Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM) opens its doors this Monday, April 21, 2025, in the historic city of Meknes. Running through April 27, this year’s edition is held under the theme: “Water at the Heart of Sustainable Development” — a critical issue at the intersection of agriculture, climate change, and food security.
More than 1,500 exhibitors from 70 countries are participating in this flagship event, making it one of the largest agricultural gatherings on the African continent. France is this year’s guest of honor, reflecting the strong bilateral cooperation between Morocco and France in agriculture, agri-tech, and food processing sectors.
The exhibition stretches across 12.4 hectares of covered space, divided into 12 thematic zones, including Agri-Tech, Livestock, Local Products, Machinery, and Sustainable Agriculture. Organizers are expecting over 1.1 million visitors, including farmers, investors, researchers, and policymakers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture highlighted the urgent need to rethink agricultural models in the face of water scarcity: “This edition of SIAM aims to spark global dialogue on how to build resilient farming systems that can thrive despite the challenges posed by climate change.”
In addition to exhibitions, the event features high-level conferences, expert panels, and networking opportunities, all focused on water governance, innovation in irrigation systems, and promoting green farming practices.
As SIAM 2025 unfolds, it positions Morocco once again as a key hub for agricultural innovation, sustainability, and South-South cooperation in food security.
